Sines
Sines is located on the southwest coast of Alentejo and the southern part of the County, is part of the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina, which stretches from Are the Algarve Torpes. The capital of the County is the birthplace of Vasco da Gama, discoverer of the sea route to India. Be sure to visit the castle of Sines, Vasco da Gama (Sines Museum), the Chiesa Madre (mother church) of San Salvador, the statue of Vasco da Gama (tribute of Sinienses) and the Church of Nossa Senhora das Salas.
