This is one of many existing ponds on the island of Flores. Belong to the set of Seven Lakes that were formed into seven volcanic craters caused by the eruptions that gave rise to the island. The remaining ponds of this set are the White Pond, Long Pond, Black Lagoon, Lagoa da Lomba, Deep lagoon and the Lagoa Seca. It is located at an average height of 600 metres above sea level.

Integrating the municipalities of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Freixo de Espada-à-Cinta, Miranda do Douro and Mogadouro, the Douro Internacional Natural Park covers the 122 kilometers of border section of the Douro River and extends south, to the Douro Valley. From a very deep valley and two plateau areas (essentially granite), one to the North with altitudes of around 700-800 meters and the other to the South with altitudes of around 600-700 meters. Located on the banks of the Távora river, Vila da Ponte, the "Pearl of Távora", is famed for its traditional small river fishes. This village has about 700 inhabitants who are mostly farmers and cattle raisers. Theere are also small firms. The roman bridge on the Távora is about 50 metres long and stands on four arches. The 17th century pillory signals the turning to a parish siege in 1661.

It is the second-highest peak on the island of Madeira, with an altitude of 1818 meters. It offers a magnificent view and, when the weather is good, you can see the neighboring island of Porto Santo. It has an inn, a restaurant and a souvenir shop and is one of the most visited peaks on the island due to good access and the trails that connect it to Pico das Torres and Pico Ruivo, which are very well-prepared and signposted.

This castle is located at the top of Cabeço da Penenciada, approximately 681 meters above sea level, between the Angueira and Maçãs rivers. This small fortress, which once served to defend the Sabor River, today serves as a privileged viewpoint over Trás-os-Montes. Some points can be identified: Miranda do Douto (Northeast), Vimioso and Outeiro (North) and Penas Roias and Mogadouro (Southwest).

A Cascata Fecha de Barjas, mais conhecida por Cascata do Tahiti, localiza-se em Vilar da Veiga e as suas águas são provenientes do Rio Arado. O seu acesso não é fácil, só sendo possível por caminhos pedestres algo sinuosos, mas vale a pena pela beleza natural do local.

Surrounded by the Pinhal de Quiaios and green fields, Lagoa da Vela has an elongated shape and runs parallel to the sea, about five kilometers away. It is the largest lagoon in Bom Sucesso, two kilometers long and 300 meters wide. Its depth, about five meters, makes it little vegetated. It has an abundant aquatic fauna and is connected to the Foja river through a stream.

Full of green pastures and forests, the village/parish of Gradiz, in the council of Aguiar da Beira, has about 200 inhabitants, mostly farmers, cattle raisers, construction workers, resin collectors and bread makers. Very old, of German origins, Gradiz boasts its originally baroque mother church and the Chapel of Saint Iria, as well as the chapel of Saint António, the Vilhena family manor and the Vouga river spring.

Traces of large gold holdings, active by vast periods, especially in the Roman period, medieval and modern, admitting that might have known exploration at a time more remote, in Proto-history. Are visible evidence of large open excavations, numerous cut mining galleries and heaps, over a wide area. One of the areas form a pond, which have given rise to the name of the place, "Poço das Freitas".
