The National Park Peneda-Gerês is one of Portugal's main natural attractions for the impressive beauty of the landscapes and for the varied flora and fauna.

Along this water-course there are several places where you can see the harbour, the bay, the Funchal amphitheatre and the modern bridge over Ribeira de João Gomes. This track, ideal to discover nature, was recovered by the town council of Funchal.

Pedestrian path, about 13 km, which gives to learn a little about the history of Vila de Arruda. The route, beginning and ending at Jardim do Palácio do Morgado, allows direct contact with the local fauna and flora as well as the observation of the landscape with their markedly rural traits.
