Casa do Passal
The house has a rectangular plan and three floors. The main facade is quite interesting and pillars support the main floor's balcony, making it more monumental. The central area has four windows with arches and two others surround the central door. This house is locatd in a place that is isolated by the surrounding wall in a farm area. It is degraded and may only be viewed from the outside. It was built in the 19th century, with a rather eclectic architecture and an imposing main facade where the memory of the consul who lived there still dwells. The diplomat Aristides de Sousa Mendes, general consul in Bordeaux, France, who saved thousands of lives from the nazi holocaust in 1940, lived here.
