Escultura de Homenagem ao Doutor Couto Jardim
Christian Garden was a doctor and great benefactor in Vila Viçosa. Was quite surprised by his kindness and by thirst to know more, always guided by the concern to apply this knowledge to the illnesses of his patients. The scenarios of misery would hurt their sensitivity, which often provided their services free of charge and lived poor, passing up by difficulties at the end of his life. For such kindness, the people wanted to honor him in myriad ways and, today, the day of his birth became the municipal holiday-August 16. Died at 82 years old and left his house at Santa Casa da Misericórdia for construction of a kindergarten.
