The Vidigueira municipality is located between Beja and Évora and is the fourth smallest in Baixo Alentejo. In addition to an interesting architectural heritage, it is connected to several routes that are worth a visit: the Alentejo Wine Route, the Bread and Wine Route and the Fresco Route. It will be worth understanding this region's connection to wine production, such as visiting the bakeries where the bread is still kneaded by hand and baked in a wood-fired oven, or even visiting a selection of examples of murals from some chapels and hermitages. The quality of Vidigueira's gastronomy is recognized, so there is no shortage of “açordas”, stews, soups, lamb and pork on the local restaurant menus. In terms of sweets you can find the tasty almond cake, "escarapiada", "azevias", "bêbados", "sericaia" and "encharcada".
