Soure
Soure is part of the Coimbra district and is limited to the north by the municipality of Montemor-o-Velho, to the west by Figueira da Foz, to the east by Condeixa and to the south by Pombal. Archaeological remains, especially from the Neolithic and Roman periods, show the occupation of this territory since ancient times. The heritage highlights include the ruins of the Soure Castle, as well as the Manueline-style Town Hall building, the São Tiago Main Church, and several farms and manors from the 18th century. Concerning traditions, the annual festival in honor of S. Mateus stands out, which takes place in September, in Largo da Igreja, and an Annual Gastronomy Festival where you can taste the delicious typical municipality recipes.
