Fábrica de Briquetes da Mina do Espadanal
The briquette Factory started its activity in 1955. Here produces energy, stores the ore (silos), the lifting, drying, pressing and transport to the pier. Their size is huge. Only the chimney of the thermoelectric plant has 64 meters high. It was the first unit of this type built by the Maschinenfabrik r. Wolf centrifuges Buckau outside German territory and is the only one in Portugal.
