Montemor-o-Novo
Montemor-o-Novo is one of the largest municipalities in Portugal, with an area of 1450 square kilometers. In economic terms, meat production is one of the most important activities, being the municipality in the country that produces most of the meat. Crafts and gastronomy are part of Montemor's heritage and cultural wealth. Cork work, embroidery, basketry, Arraiolos rugs, ceramics and tiles are some of the works still created in the region. As far as gastronomy is concerned, "sericaia" sweets, "rebolão's" potatos, "queijadas" and convent sweets are everywhere, and it is suggested that they go with the traditional liqueurs (Licor de Granito and Licor de Poejo). The hunting dishes, veal, lamb, pies and sausages have unique flavors.
