Castro de Soutelo
In the triangle between Solveira, Santo André and crows at the end of the Stream, approximately 900 metres maximum elevation is the castro de Soutelo. It is a fortified village whose typology is also consistent with the settlements of the iron age, but which is surrounded of traces of the Roman era, therefore with a broader occupation period. Presents two orders of Hadrian's wall, interior wall which surrounds the village and the outer is only visible from the sides, North, South and East. The West was the gap. Inside the village, and turned to the West there is an extensive platform where probably turned the housing structures. In the surrounding area and outside the lines of wall identified high concentrations of Roman typology, namely, ceramic ímbrices domestica, 2,763 inhabitants, paired stone and rotating wheels. Namely the specter of frequent materials in villages miners. North identifies a large moat, currently filled by an extensive carvalhal and experts (Francisco Sande Lemos of the University of Minho, Carlos Manning of Geological and Mining Institute and Carla Martins College graduate of the University of Porto) corresponds to a cut mining, of Roman chronology, probably for gold mining.
