Palácio Alverca / Casa do Alentejo
This house, repaired in 1919, has luxurious interiors and a neo-Arabian yard with a fountain. This is a good example of a mannerist urban palace, characterized by a great sobriety and simplicity that reveals the usual social division of space. The exterior simplicity contrasts with the romantic exuberance at the interior. It is also known as São Luís da Pena or Pais do Amaral Palace.
