Museu da Água - Aqueduto das Águas Livres

The Águas Livres Aqueduct is considered to be one of the greatest engineering works and one of the rare exemplars of the water supply systems of the XVIII century. Its construction was ordered in 1732 by Dom João V. The extension of the aqueduct is of about 58 km. The aqueduct also owns the largest stone pointed arch of the world, with 62,29 meters s height and 28,86 meters width.
