Building of remote origins is located in a strait that penetrates the sea. In its construction, this hermitage incorporates stones from previous roman/medieval buildings located nearby. Inside there is a valuable image of the Virgin and Child from the 16th century. This hermitage was once surrounded by a coastal defense fortress that was destroyed by the 1755 earthquake.

It formed, together with the Santa Catarina Fort, the defense of the Arade river estuary. Originally consisting of a watchtower, it was expanded in the 17th and 18th centuries. On the initiative of the poet Coelho Carvalho, at the beginning of the 20th century, the residence underwent major adaptation works, which gave it the romantic aspect it presents today.

Upon arrival, a viewpoint with a chapel awaits us, from which the name of the beach derives. Located between cliffs, this beach offers excellent conditions for pleasant days in the sun. The beach has a concession area, as there are several tourist sets nearby. Boats depart from here to visit the cliff caves that abound here.

On a narrow, flat beach, after a steep descent made by many steps, is this beach, used largely by tourists from the hotel sets that surround the area. The sea invites you to some nautical activities or swimming. The water is of good quality.

This is the main bathing center in Lagoa. Today it continues to be a fishermen's beach, access to which has been redeveloped. Thus, walking along the streets and alleys with restricted car access, heading towards the sea, the beach appears, close to the commercial area. The beach is not extensive, it is narrow and relatively small and has a concession area. To get to know this part of the coast better, we suggest renting a boat that will take bathers to see the caves.

Nestled between cliffs and therefore sheltered, it is a very beautiful beach, easily accessible and with good quality water, although sometimes choppy. The bar extends onto the beach and usually has very pleasant music.

Considered one of the best water parks in Europe, it is located just a few minutes from Portimão and offers all kinds of fun and recreational activities in the water. If you want to spend a day full of excitement and dizzying sensations, this is the perfect place! The main attraction is the Black Hole.

This was the first golf course in Madeira, built in 1937 and then redesigned in 1991 by the famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones. Overlooking Machico Bay, it has three courses, each with two par-5s, two par-3s and five par-4s. The "Machico" and "Desertas" courses are those usually used during the Madeira Open, while the "Serras" course, gently flat, maintains the level of play. Santo da Serra hosts the Madeira Open annually, a tournament integrated into the PGA European Tour.

Beach divided by an area of basalt pebbles and another with yellow sand, with good conditions for bathing and sunbathing. It has a swimming pool, areas for football and beach volleyball, pedal boats and jet skis, sun loungers and umbrellas for hire.

Fine sand beach, located near Ponta de São Lourenço, which is characterized by high cliffs, making it a difficult beach to access.
