Opened in December, 19th, 1941, the Coliseu is the biggest playhouse in the north region of the country, with 3000 seats. It has been welcoming great show names, from Bob Dylan, Caetano Veloso, Amália Rodrigues, to the big orchestras, such as the Munich Band, Paris Band and to the great opera singers such as José Carreras and Monserrat. It presents several cultural events, from which we point out the musical and dancing shows.

The campsite Costa of the Vizier, situated about 500 metres from the Praia Grande and Porto Covo, offers two areas for camping tents and caravans, as well as apartments for rent. Dating back to 1607, this convent was sacked by pirates in 1616 and in 1675. It was then rebuilt in 1725 on the initiative of Friar Agostinho de San Francisco, dating from this time a set of valuable tiles. Currently, it houses the City Council, the Court of the District of Vila do Porto and the Finance and Treasury Department.

This fortress, which constructions was ordered in 1603 by Filipe III, is located in the Ilha do Pessegueiro (Peach Tree Island), to the south of Porto Covo. During the Restauração War (Restoration War) it was attacked several times by the Castilla army and was severely damaged. At the end of the 17th century, during the reign of Dom Pedro II, a new fortress was constructed. It is currently in ruins.
