All that remains of the former Discalced Carmelite convent are the façade, the church, and the cloister. Of particular note are the breccia work on the façade, and the colorful mosaic murals, which vaguely recall the art of the Far East.

The views from here are breathtaking. They stretch from the Atlantic Ocean (to the west), to the Serra da Estrela (southeast), and past the Serra do Caramulo (northeast). The Buçaco National Forest stands out in the landscape.

Bairrada-style suckling pig is undoubtedly the greatest culinary reference in this Bairrada region, in the Beira Litoral region. Pig farming has been a common practice since the 17th century. The suckling pig is spit-roasted for two hours in a wood-fired oven. Yellow as gold, it's a dish much loved by both locals and visitors who regularly stop by to savor the meat's unique flavor.

Located on the western slopes of the Buçaco Mountains, this is the ideal place to recharge your batteries. Luso's thermal waters spring from the central part of the spa, located in the town center. Its waters are especially recommended for respiratory tract conditions, circulatory system problems, metabolic and endocrine disorders, rheumatic conditions, and musculoskeletal disorders.

This is a fairly easy walking route. The route covers sites associated with the Battle of Buçaco, which pitted the army commanded by Marshal Massena against the Portuguese-British forces commanded by Wellington. You'll find the Military Museum, the Queen's Gate, the Chapel of the Cedron Bridge, a chapel commemorating the biblical story, and other places of great historical interest.

The Buçaco Military Museum was opened in 1910. Expanded and remodeled in 1962, it has valuable collections of weapons, uniforms and equipment used in the Battle, including an artillery piece with its respective garrison.
