The Pico Island Vineyard Culture Landscape is made up of Lajido da Criação Velha and Lajido de Santa Luzia, occupying a total of 154 hectares. The Arouca Geopark covers the administrative area of Arouca municipality, which has been stated by his exceptionally located geological heritage of international relevance recognized by European and Global Network of Geoparks of UNESCO since April 2009. The valuable and unique geological heritage inventoried covers a total of 41geossítios especially the famous Parideiras Stones in the village of Castanheira (Serra da Freita) and the Trilobites Canelas giants.

This geological phenomenon of great spectacularity and beauty is located inside Caldeira da Graciosa. This lava cave features a circular depression 1600 meters in diameter and 350 meters deep, in the place where the top of a volcano that gave rise to the island was previously located. At the bottom, there is a lake of cold, sulfurous water. The exploration of this cave began in the 19th century by several researchers, including Prince Albert of Monaco.

Surrounded by the Pinhal de Quiaios and green fields, Lagoa da Vela has an elongated shape and runs parallel to the sea, about five kilometers away. It is the largest lagoon in Bom Sucesso, two kilometers long and 300 meters wide. Its depth, about five meters, makes it little vegetated. It has an abundant aquatic fauna and is connected to the Foja river through a stream.
