A village that may date back to the neolithic, Valverde is located between the Dão river, the Coja brook and the Teixugueira brook. These lands are not very fertile due to the altitude and to the harsh winters. Nonetheless, its 200 inhabitants are farmers and cattl raisers. There is also the castro (a celtic village) of Carapito. The pillory (16th century, just after the charter) and the mother church also stand out.
