Santuário do Senhor do Monte
The origin of this shrine dates back to the early 19TH century when it was erected in the place of Sandhu, a cruise dedicated to Bom Jesus do Monte Lord of Lost. For meeting along the way spent many Mule drivers that ensured the trade route between Ribeira de Oura and the zone of Barroso, faced with the difficulties of the path and afraid of being attacked by beasts or thieves, many resorted to divine protection. Grew the faith and with her teeth, to such an extent that in 1821 began the construction of the Church of Senhor do Monte and the following year began to hold up the party of Bom Jesus do Monte Lord of the afflicted, then added to the feast of St. James. Currently, the Festival of Senhor do Monte, which annually takes place the last weekend of July, is one of the most important religious festivals in the municipality of Boticas.
