Igreja Matriz de Boticas / Igreja da Nossa Senhora da Livração

The parish church of Boticas, dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Livração, was built in the late 19TH century. The main façade has a portal surmounted by a rectangular oval and shoots in simple pediment surmounted by a granite cross. Has a quadrangular Bell Tower with four founders tears, built at a later stage. Inside the walls are decorated with paintings depicting biblical themes such as "the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves". Also the triumphal arch, which divides the chancel from the nave of the Church, is decorated with a panel representing the "Ascension of Christ" Has this church four gilded altars, the high altar, which occupies the entire wall of the head of the Church, and, on the ship, two side altars and a side altar, which contain religious imaginary. Centre of the religious life of the parish of Boticas is in this church that Sunday masses are celebrated and, among others, the religious celebrations of the great feast in honour of Nossa Senhora da Livração, which annually on the third weekend of August, attracts thousands of pilgrims.
