The person in charge is the Portuguese chef Miguel Rocha Vieira, who took over it in 2015. With a philosophy based on haute cuisine and the sea as its main inspiration, Fortaleza do Guincho offers a daring incursion into traditional gastronomy. In 2001, the restaurant, with a strong influence of haute cuisine, won its first Michelin star that it still holds today.

Antiga casa de lavradores abastados do século XVII, intacta e bem preservada, não guarda segredos e abre a porta a todos os que a visitem, para ver e, principalmente, para bem comer. As receitas vem de gerações passadas. Rojões no “pingue” com castanhas e migas de sarrabulho são das que ninguém prescinde, assim como o capão recheado, o arroz de pato ou o singular cozido à portuguesa (por encomenda).
