Anadia

Anadia is located in Beira Litoral, in the heart of Bairrada, and belongs to the district of Aveiro. Inside the village, the special emphasis goes to the Conde da Anadia mansion, the Paço de Óis do Bairro and the Paço dos Marqueses da Graciosa, a building dating back to the 18th century. Visit the chapel of São Sebastian, the Museu José Luciano de Castro, the Bairrada Wine Museum and the Alliance Underground Museum (of the Berardo Collection). In Mogofores check out the Capela dos Pintos, a 17th century old chapel of the parish church; in Moita enjoy the parish church and, in São Lourenço do Bairro, the pillory and the chapel of Nossa Senhora das Lezírias. The termas da Curia (Curia Thermal Spa and Baths) are located a few kilometers from Anadia and provide treatments with medicinal waters in a pure relaxing setting. Take a "gaivota" tour (pedalo boat) in the artificial lake of Parque da Curia and enjoy the outdoor area. Take a look at Curia's railway station, designed by Cottinelli Telmo, in operation since 1944. Watch out the tile panels by Jorge Barradas. The termas de Vale-da-Mó (Vale-da-Mó Thermal Spa and Baths), although smaller and less famous than the previous ones, also offer treatments for various health problems and a perfect environment for a few days of rest. Discover the Gralheira, Porcão and Saidinho dams. The region is known for its roasted suckling pig and the rich and aromatic wines, with special emphasis on the locally produced natural sparkling red and white wines. Among the typical handicraft of the region, are included the works in basketware and linen, embroidery and woodwork.
