Reserva Natural dos Ilhéus das Formigas
The ants consist of eight islets, located about 37 km from the coast of the island of Santa Maria. Is classified as a nature reserve due to the diversity and richness of its underwater fauna. It is also known for being a place of retreat and nesting seabirds, as well as for being a place of reproduction and feeding of sharks, turtles and several cetaceans.
