Penha Longa - Atlântico

The Natural Park of Sintra is the framing of this path suspended between the sea and the hills of Portugal's most romantic and regarded by professionals as one of the best in the European circuit. Whimsical framed by boulders that form the serra de Sintra, source of inspiration for Lord Byron, who called it "Glorious Eden", the Atlantic field is a fabulous 18-hole course situated 20 minutes from Lisbon. Robert Trent Jones II designed it in such a way as to combine, optimally, the irregularity of the terrain with perspectives of landscape of mountains and surrounding sea. The holes 6 to 13, built on an elevation, offer impressive panoramic of the region. The championship course features earned him be considered one of the best fields on the European Tour, having hosted the Open de Portugal in 1994 and 95, the Estoril Open in 1999 and the Grand Final of the Challenge Tour in 1998. In 1995 was voted best Portugal field and still remains in the top 5 in the biennial election of European Golf Magazine.
