Casa-Museu de Leal da Câmara

The House-Museum of Leal da Câmara is installed in residences where Master Leal da Câmara lived from 1930 until his death in 1948. The building that once belonged to Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, Marquis of Pombal, worked as a field Hospital of the Portuguese troops during the French invasions, in the 19th century. In 1965 was incorporated in the Municipal Chamber of Sintra, upon the death of the donor and the master's widow. Since 2003 the House functions as a space where we display the hooptie collections of the artist (painting, drawing, caricature, furniture, textiles, ceramics, photo and file of correspondence and documentation).
