Parque Natural da Arrábida
The Arrábida Natural Park comprises a set of accidents that form the "arrábica" mountain range. This park aims to preserve the natural, socio-cultural, economic and historc values of the region. Its importance in terms of nature and landscape is enormous, due to its uniqueness and its scarce peopling. The Alto dos Píncaros, on the top of the Risco Hill, at an altitude of 400 metres, resembles a wall above the Atlantic Ocean and falls abruptly. There are mountains, hills, valleys and cliffs. Its tallest peak is located at an altitude of 501 metres, on the Formosinho Peak. Three "belvederes" are also worth a visit: the São Luís, Gaiteiros and Louro hills. Hidden bays and maritime grottos are part of this astonishing landscape.
