Museu Municipal de Setúbal / Convento de Jesus
This museum, located from its origins in the Convent of Jesus in Setúbal, features about 500 years of history and art, namely religious art (painting, sculpture, jewelry, from the 15th to the 19th centuries) and the "Primitivos de Setúbal" (The Primitives of Setúbal), that is, the Church of Jesus' retable, of about 1520-30, fourteen panels of oil painting on wood by the painter of the king Dom Manuel I, Jorge Afonso.
