Jardim de São Lázaro
It was the first public garden in the city, open in 1834. Its name comes from a former medieval leprosery demolished in the XVIII century. This is a romantic space crowded with fountains and statues, leafy trees and flower beds and also a small bandstand. The garden is the only one in the city that has a railing. It is visited habitually by students, since the Fine Arts Faculty and the Municipal Library are nearby.
