Igreja de Vila da Ponte

Before the Church was the Church of Santa Marinha Chaplaincy. The patron saint of the village is St. Mary Magdalene bridge. Initially the Church was smaller, having been added multiple times due to population increase. The last change was made in 1710. Abroad we can find a foot that served to support the person who pulled the gramalheira, to ring the Bell. This foot was located next to the front door, where you can still check the wear and tear caused by gramalheira. Currently was placed elsewhere, since it is no longer used, since it was built in 1950, a Bell Tower, where you can also see a clock. Even abroad, we can also see two sinks promises, the first and oldest is situated near the main door of the Church and was carved by the late 13TH century or early 14TH century. It is a monument of Romanesque era and is one of the oldest existing copies in Barroso. In the Church, the pulpit, the altar of the Sacred Heart "Gothic" and the Chair of the Bishop, who has the representative signs of settlement: the bridge, the walnut, the cross, and the Dove. The House that lies beside the Church had the privilege of having a door that gave direct access to the Church via the eira. This regalia is due to the fact that the owners of the House give the space the eira to carolo (funeral celebrations) at the time of the death of someone.
