Concatedral de Miranda do Douro
Former Cathedral in Miranda do Douro, now serves as Miranda do Douro parish church. It was founded in 1552 by King João III, designed by Gonçaalo de Torralva and Miguel de Arruda. It is notable for being completely Mannerist in style: the facade with a Mannerist door, the towers with the bells, the altars, the altarpieces, the arched roof and the row of chairs. The sculptures on the altarpieces represent, among others, the Apostles and the Virgin in the middle of angels. It is worthy to mention the wooden piece of Jesus child of Cartolinha.
