Serra da Lousã
This hill is located between the Açor and Sicó hills, to the southwest of Coimbra, bordering the district of Leiria. It has a length of 30 km and a width of 30 km too and reaches its peak at about one thousand metres, on the Alto do Trevim. It has many valleys and abrupt descents on its northwest side. It has many plant and animal species and a few water courses, namely the famed river pool of Lousã.Along the hill, the trails lead us to villages that have stopped in time, filled with schist made houses. The most curious will find vestiges, hidden among the vegetation, of stone bridges, olive oil presses, fountains and water mills. The sportspeople will also have their share: cross country, paragliding, climbing, rappel and much more.
