Lagoa
The Lagoa municipality, located in the western Algarve, is today a highly sought after tourist destination, both for its natural landscape diversity and for the harmony in the combination between ancient and modern. Bordered to the west by the Arade River, to the south it benefits from a coastline of around 17 kilometers, featuring picturesque and stunning beaches with fine sand and crystal clear water. It is also a popular destination for golfers, who find some of the most popular courses for practicing this sport in this municipality. At the table, grilled sardines, fish or seafood cataplana, corn porridge with cockles and "feijoada de buzinas" (conch beans) are the most popular delicacies. In terms of sweets, the highlight is the traditional Algarve almond and fig sweets.
