Museu da Guarda

Space installed in the old Episcopal Seminary built in 1601 by Dom Nuno de Noronha, Bishop of Guarda. It opened to the public as a museum in 1985, under the name Museu da Guarda, showing the history of the district. The Museum's collection comprises collections of archeology, numismatics, sacred sculpture from the 13th to the 18th centuries, sacred paintings from the 16th to 18th centuries and armory from the 17th to 20th centuries. The museum's collection also includes ceramic objects, photography, regional ethnography, painting and drawing from the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
