A village located on the foothills of the Sirigo mountain, that owes its name to the abundant aechaeoligical vestiges of the region, menhirs, dolmens and graves carved on the rocks. Mostly two megalithic monuments are worth a visit, the necropolis of Lareira de Cima and the menhir of the Valley of Maria Pais. The houses feature a regional architecture, with ornamented romanesque windows. A special note to the mother church and to the chapels of Saint Silvestre and of Saint Miguel as well.

This Chapel is located near to the wall of the Castle, having been built in 1656 by order of Countess da Feira, d. Joana Forjaz Pereira de Menezes e Silva. It is a classical building, hexagonal cross-section, which reveals the influence of important chapels of centralized plant in the region. Inside, the floor forms a radial drawing from the Center, and gilded altarpieces in five walls. Attaches to the Chapel, there is a chaplain's House.

Built in 1747, the Tapada Nacional de Mafra was created with the aim of providing adequate involvement to the Mafra Palace, to constitute a recreational space for the King and his court and also to supply firewood and other products to the Convent. This building was built by Manuel Lopes, first judge of the Confraria de Santo António, and by D. João Lobo, eighth baron of Alvito. Inside it is possible to observe the 17th century tile ceiling, highlighting the flowers and birds. Also, noteworthy is the mural painting on the chancel's barrel vault. This painting depicts an episode from the life of the Patron Saint. It is also worth highlighting the Mannerist pictorial set of oil on wood.

This building was built in the 19th century by the Counselor Dr. José Maria de Sousa Macedo. It had different owners until, in 1989, it bacame a bank. It has a rectangular plan, with two floors, a mansard and symmetrical façades. The main façade has a more elaborated ornamention, of vegetalist Art Nouveau. Tha mansard has spans that are circular for the most part in contrast with the square lines of the other two floors.

One of the pioneers of the country's electrification examples from hydropower. On the outside of the building, above the River, there is still a high brick chimney, which was once connected to a steam engine. In that place there was the mill of Pedro de Évora, a Mills belonging to the order of Christ. The city of Tomar was originally lit by 150 16 lamps, candles lit since midnight at dusk, except on moonlit nights, in which the intensity of the lamps was halved.

The Church of our Lady of dawn, or new Church, by which name it is also known, was built in the late 18TH century. Its facade is composed of three cloths and inside, of three naves, boasts the ceiling decorated with a big star carved in wood. Deserves featured still the altarpiece of the main Chapel in neoclassical carvings (1809), where you can see the image of Nossa Senhora de Alva, patroness of Aljezur.
