Located near the São Pedro do Sul thermae, in a deep valley surrounded by cliffs, with the so.called Hell Portal to the west. This villag is composed of small schist houses and narrow streets with vines. The inhabitants are farmers and shepherds, mostly corn farmers. It has one of the biggest communal goat herds in the country.

Located at an altitude of 290 metres, above the Mondego river. Most of its inhabitants sailed the Mondego until the 19th century. Its architectural heritage includes 17th and 18th centuries houses, the mother church, the Penacova pillory/crucifix, the chapels of Our Lady of Monte Alto, Our Lady of Moita and Saint Anthony, the Hospital building and the Emídio da Silva belvedere. Craftswork includes baskets, wood miniatures, tapestries and more.

It was one of the first villages with register, dated from 1195. Located at the foot of the southerly ladder of Gardunha Sierra, it stands out for its architectonical patrimony: the Town house, pillory, mother-church (where is the reliquary of S. Vicente), Misericórdia church (with the sacra art museum), chapels of Santo António, S. Sebastião and S. Francisco and Nossa Senhora da Orada, Calvary, emblazoned houses, fountain, Town hall and Misericórdia Hospital. The strawy chairs, the patchwork-quilts, the linen towels and wood works are some examples of the local handicraft.

Oliveira do Conde is known for its manors with coats of arms, namely the houses of Ceia and of the Count and the Albergarias Manor, of the 16th century. A special note to the chapels of Our Lady of Miracles and of the Carvalhais, the manuelin pillory, the mother church (National Monument) and the gothic chapel. The craftswork includes tapestries (of the Arroiolos kind) and furniture carvings.

With its origins dating back to the neolithic (there is one cavern of that epoch at São Pedro dos Matos, with two rooms), the oldest parish in the ouncil of Aguiar da Beira has about on thousand inhabitants. It has strong gastronomical traditions (queijo da serra - Estrela mountain cheese -, sausages, cabbages soup and olive oil cake) and craftswork traditions too. Its inhabitants are mostly farmers and cattle raisers. Located by the Zêzere river, Orvalho has popular schist houses. A special not to two beelvderes, Cabeço Mosqueiro and Cabeça Murada, both with vestiges of ancient castros (celtic villages). Nearby, there is a waterfall of the Zêzere river, named Água de Alta.

Located on the Gralheira mountain, Manhouce has typically regional houses. Most of its inhabitants are shepherds. Even though it is located inland, one may view the sea from the mountain and that may have influenced the women's clothes. It has several roman vestiges, a road and two bridges. A special note to the singing of Manhouce and to the Grupo de Cantares de Manhouce (a folk group) as well.
