Its has remarkable civil and religious monuments, namely: the mother hurch (a romanesque-gothic temple, classed as a National Monument), the bridge on the Zela river, the chapel of Saint Frei Gil, the houses of the Távoras and Teles, the Forca Pillory, the old prison and town hall, the church of Misericórdia and the Railway Bridge.
