A small mountain village, composed of just a few houses, at the Aboboreira mountain. Quite scenic.

At the Abobadela parish, council of Amarante, this small village has about 100 inhabitants. Located in a rather pleasant area, by old chestnut trees that once belonged to the Convent of Saint Francis, it has a 17th century pillory (classed as a public interest construction) where the last death penalty in Portugal took place.

The natural waterfalls stand out in this rustic and scenic village. The inhabitants are mostly craftsworkers who produce namely linen and wool works.

A small village with a variety of mazes, with yards and alleys. The houses are mostly built in granite. The most recent areas around the old part are different. At about 800 metres, the waterfall "Poço Negro" (Black Well), on the Teixeira river, is worth a visit.

Of the once communal life, there still remain the functioning water mills. To recover thee traditional region's craftswork, classes have been organized according to the traditional techniques.

A village located on a rather steep hillside that, together with the Village of Candal, forms an amphitheatre. The houses are mostly made of schist and the agriculture is basically of corn. There is also cattle raising.
