A river that is tributary of the Cávado river's left bank, born between the Barroso and the Larouco hills. It is 37 km long and it is used for producing electricity at the Alto Rabagão and Venda Nova dams. The access to the sping is by foot, after Codeçoso.

The Gerês Mountain has five major water courses. The Monção river is one of them and flows from north to south.

The Coura river is known for its abundance in trouts. It passes by Paredes de Coura and Vilar de Mouros (celt, roman and sueve vestiges). It has its mouth, quite near the sea, on the Minho river, between Caminha and Seixas.

A river that has its spring on the Larouco hill, at an altirude of about 1520 metres. The river crosses Braga, Barcelos and has its mouth by Esposende. It is 135 kilometres long.

The crystal clear waters of the Laboreiro river jump out of the limits of the Melgaço parish and reach the Lima river, down the hill, with truly edenic corners.

Tha Caia river starts on the São Mamede Hill, at an altitude of 1020 metres, and is a tributary of the right bank of the Guadiana river. The Caia Dam furnishes water to the towns of Elvas and Campo Maior. In this place of great natural beauty, there are bird species such as the little bittern, the common nightingale, the cetti's warbler and the great reed warbler.

A river that is born on the Barroso mountain, near Sarraquinhos, in the parish of Montalegre. It flows to the left bank of the Tâmega river, near Cabeceiras de Basto. The Covas river flows to it.

The Gerês Mountain has five major water courses that flow to the Cávado river. The Arado river, that flows from north to south, is one of them.

The Sarilhão Brook flows to the Vilarinho reservoir.

A water stream the flows to the Guadiana river, between Moura and Serpa, where the Serpa dam was built.
