The Passeio das Virtudes is leaning over the Calçada das Virtudes, which ends at the Virtudes Fountain. Being a balcony over Miragaia, it offers a beautiful view of the landscape spreading out from the river till its mouth. Here you will find the Cooperativa Árvore head-office, which is the stage for several cultural activities.

A walk along Cerva is much more than just viewing the small town that was once the parishe's siege (charter from 1514). The river beach and the entire surrounding area are fit for walks along this region's blessed nature trails.

The Louções Hill belongs to the Natural Park of the Sâo Mamede Hill. It has pre-historic sites with cave paintings, such as the Gruta da Igreja dos Mouros (Cave of the Moors' Church).

It belongs to the Natural Park of the Aire and Candeeiros Hills and it is formed by limestone that dates back to the medium Jurassic and the superior Jurassic. It is the most important calcareous massif in Portugal. The rare and spaced out vegetation speaks of its calcareous nature. The tectonic phenomena, throughout the ages, created caves and springs. Located to the northeast of Montalegre, it belongs to the Old Massif. It measures 10 km and it is the second highest mountain in Portugal, with its peak at an altitude of 1527 metres, at the Fonte da Pipa (Barrel Fountain). From the top, one views the Lima, Tâmega, Cávado and Rabagão valleys, as well as several villages and the small town of Montalegre. Besides the landscapes, there are also horses and one can do mountain sports, such as hang gliding, paragliding, climbing and walks.
