A typical mountain village on one of the Caramulo Mountain's foothills. Mostly composed of small granite houses, with rather steep rooftops and quite narrow streets. The inhabitants are farmeers and shepherds and protect themselves from the cold and the rain by wearing dark wool coats.

Onc named Casal da Urzeira due to the larg quantity of heather in the surrounding hills, Uz is a small traditional village. Its small rural, rustic houses, with culm rooftops and espigueiros (small ceral warehouses) clearly show its typical atmosphere.

The inhabitants ar farmrs and cattle raisers. For those who enjoy hunting and a nice meal, there is an old hunters association that organizes vents and offers lodging.

In the village of Aljustrel, Alentejo, was installed, in 2013, the Hotel Villa Aljustrel, a four storey building architected by Carlos Ganhão. The strokes are contemporary, sober and 33 rooms very spacious.
