In the heart of the historic area, stands the imposing Torre do Relógio, unavoidable in the landscape of Castelo Branco, as it is visible from the most diverse locations. Its creation is related to the expansion process of the city and the enlargement of the limits of the walls, since it was created where there was an old tower of the outer wall, adapted for its current functions in the 19th century. Its characteristic hourly chimes are heard by residents and visitors alike.

The campsite of Freixial, located near the Natural Reserve of Serra da Malcata, is characterized by a landscape of valleys and streams. Here you have the possibility to do camping surrounded of nature in its purest state, in the shadows of fresh ash trees, Alders and willows that abound in this space. You can also refresh yourself with a dip in the ribeira and prepare your meals outdoors, in grills provided by the Park.

Created in 1995, the Guadiana Natural Park, that includes the parishes of Mértola and Serpa, is of great interest in terms of plants, animals, geology and landscapes. The medium part of the Guadiana valley, between Pulo do Lobo and the mouth of the Vascão brook, with its valleys and several tributaries, is beautiful above average. There are boars, little bustards, bustards, otters, black storks, griffins, wild olive trees and Brazilian peppers.

Also called Santa Luzia hill, it is located by th city of Viana do Castelo. From the belvedere, 249 metres high, one can view the city, the Lima valley and the sea. On the top thre is the Santa Luzia Church. The ascent to the top can be made on foot, elevator or car. It is a space of rare beauty, with diversified vegetation, the celtic village (citânia) of Santa Luzia and the Tílias Park.

Characterized by a strong rural component, this set was once the centre of a playground area, in the town suburbs, organized in several farms, most of them long lost. Implanted in what used to be the outskirts of Benfica, the Grandela Quarter was meant to lodge the workers from “Sociedade Algodoeira do Fomento Colonial” and the employees from the “Armazéns Grandela” (both property of Francisco Grandela). The building plan had a mainly private character, with railings and gates bounding the whole disposed along three streets. It was formed by wings, each one with its own typology, arranged accordingly to the kind of lodger

Inserted in the magnificent resort of Vale do Lobo, this space inspired the salt mines of Loulé is surrounded by the ocean and the ria Formosa Natural Reserve.
