Distributed along the banks of the Vizela River, Aldeia do Pontido provides a unique rural tourism experience. After three decades of total isolation, the village was completely rebuilt. Here, the appeal of Nature is irresistible, making it perfect for diving in the clear and refreshing waters of the Queimadela reservoir. The accommodation offer is limited to five restored houses, which still respect the original design and materials. The siege of the "municipium" in the roman days, in the 1st to 4th centuries bC, and later on th siege of a small mdieval parish. Its architectural heritage includes the Roman Arch, a National Monument, the pillory, the mother church, the roman amphitheatre, the roman bridge of Ribeira de Cavalos, the chapls of Our Lady of Luz (Light), Our Lady of Socorro (Help) and of Saint Sebastião, the menhir of the Pimheiro dos Abraços and several manors. A special note to the museum at the Godinhos houses, with a manuelin window, as well.

Village integrated into the Alvão Natural Park, located close to the Olo River. This village, which seems to have remained indifferent to the changes that time brings, retains its beautiful rural houses, made of granite and with slate roofs. King Sancho I granted it a charter in 1196 and it was the county seat from 1514 until the 19th century. From this height, the pillory and the old Town Hall still survive. Fisgas do Ermelo, one of the largest waterfalls in Portugal, falling 100 meters high.

A village located at an altitude of about one thousand metres, part of the so-called "Terra Fria" (Cold Land). It gave its name to the Natural Park of Montesinho, of which it is a part. A special note to the beautiful surrounding landscapes, with the green of the morasses in contrast with golden and reddish of the woods and to the popular buildings in schist and granite. Its inhabitants still maintain some ancient communal uses. Do visit the "casa abrigo" (shelter house) and the dam. The area is also good for mountainering.

A very old village, located on the foothills of the Estrela Mountain, with a vestige of a roman road. The mother church, known as Catedral das Beiras (Beiras Cethedral), a rather large temple, with golden carvings, a ceiling with 102 paintings and religious objects stands out. Nearby, the "Curral dos Romanos", also known as Sobreda dolmen (Public Interest Construction), an interesting olive oil press of the Middle Ages, at Rio de Mel and the Penedo da Moura (Moura Rock), a natural cave, are worth a visit.

A olaria tem aspeto grosseiro e é adaptada à função de uso doméstico (alguidares, bilhas, cântaros, fogareiros, vasos, tachos). Algumas peças têm pintura e são vidradas. Predominam os desenhos ingénuos alentejanos em tons castanhos, azuis e amarelos. Os fornos de Viana do Alentejo são a lenha, descobertos, sem chaminés, com paredes de alvenaria e cobertos por uma abóbada.

Polvo à Feira ou Polvo à Galega. Assim é conhecido este prato que, embora seja típico da Galiza, é também servido em Portugal. O nome deriva precisamente do facto de, em Espanha, ser preparado em feiras de rua. Costuma ser servido como entrada ou como petisco, sendo servido numa tábua de madeira, da qual se pica com um palito.

A Quinta da Cela tem uma produção média anual de 55 pipas de vinho verde. Adaptou o espaço dos antigos lagares e prensas em sala de provas, permitindo a 20 pessoas de cada vez a visita a este espaço museológico agrícola instalado no antigo alpendre e a poder observar equipamentos de outros tempos associados aos trabalhos agrícolas. O preço da visita é de 10€.

Quinta do Seixo is located on the south bank of the Douro River, in Cima-Corgo, and offers a wonderful view over the river. Since 1987, it has been owned by Sogrape Vinhos, which created a modern winemaking center here, where the famous Port and Douro wines are produced. Here you can learn more about the region and visit the cellar and the robotic presses, learning about the entire wine production cycle, as well as trying a Port Wine tasting.
