A long lagoon with about 1.3 km2, formed by two main areas linked by a narrow channel. Surround by vast sandy areas, this place has tranquil waters and is a refugee for several bird species. It may have once beeen a passage from the Tejo river to the sea, which is located about 150 m away. It has protected dunes.

Recent leisure space with gardens (water, smells and colours), a central lake, infra-structures for a restaurant, news stand and esplanade, a space called canídromo, playground and a small skate park.

Typical village of fishermen, situated in the region of Paignton, known by the peculiarity of their homes and of its people. Its construction is based on pillars (to prevent flooding) and is in wood that has been painted subsequently to the taste of the owner. Since most fishermen here live from Vieira de Leiria, their boats are called vieiros. The beach is sandy Brown, very quiet and here you will see more fishermen than sunbathers! This was also the village where he lived the Portuguese writer Alves Redol.

A very goo looking park, with tall trees and plenty of shades, a bandstand and small macadam trails that render this an even more pleasant walk. There is a playground.

Quinta do Castelo is a natural space with over 300 years of history, situated on the slopes of the castle of the fair. Is a very well maintained park with century-old trees, railings, a man-made Lake traversed by a bridge and an artificial Grotto of rare beauty that is reminiscent of the art of Gaudí. Penela, a name of celtic origins, is located between the interior mountain area and the coastal plains. It was founded during the reign of Dom Afonso Henriques and rceived its charter in 1337. It has a castle whose construction started in the 11th century and a donjon. Ot has two diffrent areas: insid walls, the oldest one, and outside walls.

A park with a picnic area, bars, a skating rink, a tennis court and several fountains and lakes. There is a wide variety of species.

It had profound refurbishment works under the Polis programme, and it is located right in front of Jardim do Paço and is another popular leisure spot. As part of this rworks, the space, which was once a farm with gardens, has given place to a very pleasant park with a large green area and in which water takes on a prominent place. However, some elements have been preserved, such as the pergola, a mass of cedars, the Mata dos Loureiros or the Porta de Roma.

Classified as a national monument, it is one of the ex-libris of the city and one of the most original examples of the Baroque style in Portugal, having been built at the behest of D. João de Mendonça, Bishop of Guarda, around 1720. It features five lakes on the main slope, where the water features stand out, while the intermediate one has the Lago das Coroas and the Stairs of the Apostles and Kings, where all the Portuguese monarchs are represented. On the upper deck is the Staircase of Moses.

The views it offers over the historic area of Castelo Branco and the region greatly reward the effort required to reach it. It is located close to the Castle and opened in 1941, built to “hide” the water supply tanks and later reclassified during the Polis program. The garden benches and shadows invite you to take a well-deserved rest, while contemplating the panoramic view that goes from Serra da Estrela to the border.
