The cascade of Pitões das Júnias in Peneda-Gerês National Park, is fueled by the crystal clear waters that pass near the monastery of Santa Maria das Júnias. Has a first drop of about 30 meters, followed by several others that allow a refreshing dip during the summer. This whole scenario is surrounded by a beautiful Oakwood centenary.

This temple has Romanic origins. It was reconstructed on the 16th century and from the original church it only kept a few things. This church is related to the legend of Santarém miracle occurred in 1266 in which a host was stolen and desecrated by a parishioner from Santo Estêvão.
