The Cork Route takes you to discover the mysteries of ancient relationship between man and the Cork oak. Each polo addresses the cycle of Cork in its different aspects, since the Cork groves to the beautiful landscapes, covering factory. Has the peculiarity of being adapted public with reduced mobility and visually impaired.

The Serra do Caldeirão is predominantly an agro-forest area. It owns all the characteristics of the most sadden rural areas, from which the aging of the population, the strong emigration, and the human and ecological desertification are proof, an activity based on traditional subsistence agriculture.

Belvedere located 368 meters high. Space of leisure where is possible to observe the serra and the sea, in one of the most beautiful views of the interior Algarve.

The Belvedere of Castanhas is located 330 meters high. From here it’s possible to view the village and also the sea. Perfect spot to leisure and rest.

Monumental doorway with a triangular fronton, dated from 1093. The Episcopal Palace was built between the XVII and the XVIII centuries for the Algarve Bishops.

Museum placed on a building that is a representative of the bourgeois architecture from the end of the XIX century. The current exhibitions include a show of characteristic clothes of Algarve in the XIX/XX centuries and a nucleus of popular religious sculpture. At the agriculture settings are about twenty old vehicles from this region. There is, also, an exhibition of horse-trappings, agricultural implements and an area dedicated to cork.

Roman – medieval Way, evidence of the first mercantile flows in this area. Nowadays, two sections of the Way are shown: Section A, with 100 meters and Section B, with 550 meters.

Here, at the Mosque site, was born José Vicente de Brito, a poet. In his memory, one of his poems was placed at the Poço Velho.
