Located by the Vouga river, in the heart of Lafões, it is the parishe's siege and rceived its charter from Dom Manuel I in 1514. Its historical centre's traditional architecture is quite harmonious. Its has remarkable civil and religious monuments, namely: the mother hurch (a romanesque-gothic temple, classed as a National Monument), the bridge on the Zela river, the chapel of Saint Frei Gil, the houses of the Távoras and Teles, the Forca Pillory, the old prison and town hall, the church of Misericórdia and the Railway Bridge.
This is a pedestrian trail along na approximate distance of 16 km. From the start, at Fornelo do Monte, to the finish, at the medieval tower of Alcofra, one may view archaeological vestiges, the region's flora and fauna and the magnificent landscapes.
This trail is about 18 km long and starts at the Botannical Reservation of Cambarinha. It aims to stimulate one's attention to the rural world, with its sheer lanscape beauty, the flora and the fauna and a few archaeological vestiges.
This 8 km long trail crosses several points of interest, namely the Mother Church, the Our Lady of the Castelo (Castle) Hill, the anthropomorphic graves and the local flora and fauna.
