The Velão mountain is 1013 metres tall and full of edenic landscapes. If you climb up just a little further, you will reach the Cruz das Moças (Crucifix of the Young Girls). At Pena Suar you can see fans of the eolian park. The place has an area of 3.8 hectares and produces enough energy for 15 thousand inhabitants. A pedestrian trail, quite plain and easy. It follows the Olo river along an old path that connected the region's vilages. The trail ends at the amazing waterfalls of Fisgas do Ermelo.
The gardens have several parts: camellias, flowers and boxwood. They have cedar tunnels with lanes and a water mirror with 2000 m2. The park that surrounds the garden was conceived by the architect Ribeiro Teles. The baroque palace (National Monument), by Nicolau Nasoni, was built in the 18th century.
