This pillory possesses a cylindrical shaft, roped until its ring which is ornate with lozenges in the superior part. It displays a top composed by two pyramid trunks finished by an iron armillary sphere. It is settled in a three steps platform.

The muncipal library is currently located on the first floor of the Casa dos Arcos (House of the Arches), the old Horta e Costa family manor. It is famed for its exterior gallery with thre columns that stand on an archway porch.
