Fonte Mouzinho da Silveira

This fountain has a curious history. First it was demolished to give room to two commercial establishments. To replace the fountain, the City council puts a small stone chafariz. Years later, the establishments disappeared and the fountain was rebuilt with its original form. This granite fountain has a shell on the centre and, at the tank tips, two ajutages.

Being the residence of successive renowned Portuguese families, the Bandeirinha Palace, built in 1575, saw its name altered by the people, due to the to huge stone mermaids that stand at the entrance.

This fountain is also known as Fonte do Bicho. This fountain is built-in the main façade of a three floors building. At the centre it has a big dolphin which is the only ajutage; the tank has a simple shape.

The Virtudes Fountain is at the end of the Calçada das Virtudes. It also has another name, Rio Frio Fountain. This fountain was abandoned for several years but t is now repaired and you may admire the three elements that symbolize the city arms and the image of Nossa Senhora Das Virtudes disappearing between two castles.
Chafariz de São Sebastião

This fountain is also known as Pelicans’ bridge. It has two figures asymmetrically placed, which support royal arms, and a pelican in the centre with a whole on the chest where the water spurts from. It is considered to be one of the most important and ancient fountains of Porto.

Capela do Cemitério de Agramonte

Inserida no Cemitério de Agramonte, inaugurado em 1855, esta capela substituiu a original, tendo sido projetada pelo Engenheiro Gustavo Adolfo Gonçalves e Sousa, e construída entre 1870 e 1874.

This fountain is one of the city symbols because it has the image of the patron saint of the city, São João Baptista, made by João Cutileiro. The fountain was repaired in 1940. It has two ajutages placed on each side of a cup where the water runs too.
