16th century church, rebuilt during the 18th century after the 1755 earthquake. A renaissance doorway remains from the original build. The church has an extremely simple interior comprising only one nave and triumphal arch. Currently, in one of the wings of this temple, works the sacred art museum Monsenhor Manuel Francisco Pardal.

Human occupation at this site dates back to the Iron Age. The castle is built on a hillock overlooking a brook, and it was used to protect the river port (that established a connection between the town and the sea) and to defend the local population from enemy attack. Two towers form part of the vast walled defence structure. From the top of the defensive walls one can see the plain and the hills that roll right up to Monte Clérigo beach.

A tranquil beach, with a rather interesting jagged shoreline. Its north side is protected by a cliff and the southern part by a fishing village, quite touristy in the summer. It has a restaurant that serves typical dishes, mostly fish and shellfish.

A beach located in a fishing village, in a small valley with edenic views. Located in between cliffs, it is crossed by the Ceixe brook that separates the regions of Alentejo and Algarve. There are artificial barriers on the sand in order to try and preserv the dunes. The water is cold and turbulent but excellent for surfing and conoeing. There are some restaurants that serve typical dishes.

Situated in a small fishing village, this beach is an interesting scoop of sand surrounded by grey ravines which extend into promontories. A truly luxurious landscape, where stands the stone statue of the needle, a large dark, narrow cliff and pointed, cone-shaped, to emerge from the sea, in the extreme south, and traces of the ancient fortress of the 17th century. Clear and transparent blue sea dotted by abundant and small stones mixed with the sand. Ideal for the practice of surf. A beach located on the Natural Park of the Vicentine Coast and Alentejan Southwest. Quite lovely and touristy, with a stretch of sand that is protected by tall dunes. One may choose between the sea waves and the calmness of the river. It has a small backup bar that serves light meals.
