This church is composed by one only nave and lower and narrower rectangular main chapel with pilasters on the façade corners, in which the lateral are scoured with cornices and have two windows. On the inside it is still visible the high choir above lower arch in wood, pulpit on the Gospel side, two lateral chapels with carved altarpieces, wall on the triumphal arch totally covered in golden polychrome carving. Old tiles depicting the grape harvest and the gentes of the Douro. Are also a tribute to the Marquis of Pombal, responsible for having delimited the demarcated Douro Region, in 1756, currently the oldest in the world. Peso da Régua is considered the capital of the demarcated Douro region.
